Harijs Stradiņš - a craftsman working with natural shape wood processing, has been designing furniture and other interior design elements since 1997 selecting the best parts of the tree from top to root. In his works Harijs uses such materials as stone, glass, hammered works, fabric, clay and other natural materials to be able to make common design for a particular room.

Fire: Living Room

Seen in the top right of this photo is the corner of the TV stand. Next to that was a book shelf containing the majority of my and Kim's anthropological library.
Strewn about are the remnants of this library. As this was likely the next large item to catch on fire, or maybe it was on fire, the fire fighters were able to throw the book shelf out into the snow.
Later on Kim and I went through the book salvaging what we could. We got four laundry totes full of books but later whittled this down to one basket. We then came up with the idea of creating a list of all the covers or identifiable books found inside and out in the snow.
It was rather depressing digging through the snow for charcoaled books. Next to the book shelf outside were our charred cross-country skis, sticking up reminded us about the tragedy. The skis were right next to the fire place.
